Hi, Hey, Hello…

I’m Roxy Riley (hence the blog title), a Baker based in Hull where I run my own Bakery with my partner, Joe.

Welcome to The actual life of Riley blog, a blog exploring the truths, messiness, difficulties and unexpected joys of this weird and wonderful journey as I try to navigate my way through it, hopefully learning some lessons – as well as making plenty of mistakes – along the way.

As a late bloomer to pretty much everything in life (including blogging) lets just say I took an interesting route to where I am now, so this is a place I hope to share topics about all of the ups and downs of life. From the trials and tribulations of motherhood (the only thing I did much earlier than everyone else), to running a business, learning how to use a proper cork screw (still mastering the art of that one) and managing the occasional break down.

There will also be a lot of the F word – food, friendships, fashion, feminism and of course, fannies!

I’d like this to be a space for us to laugh together and cry together so please feel free to reach out and share with me!
